Grandfather Mountain Most Visited Place on the Blue Ridge Parkway

There are many beautiful attractions on the Blue Ridge Parkway. 469 miles of winding curves, mile high peaks and cascading waterfalls, however there’s only one Grandfather Mountain, which is the highest peak in the Blue Ridge Mountains at over a mile high. It’s the most visited and popular attraction on the Blue Ridge Parkway, by far. Visit the mile high swinging bridge, the Top Shop for lunch, which is run solely by solar energy. Not only can you climb the trails, but you can take in the breath-taking views too. On a clear day you can see all the way to Charlotte, NC over 100 miles away. Grandfather Mountain also has native animals in their natural habitats your whole family will enjoy. Animals that call Grandfather Mountain home include: black bears, bald eagles, deer, otters and mountain lions. It’s only 20 minutes from our cabins which offers a central location for all your day trips to Asheville, Blowing Rock and Boone. In June the Rhododendrons will be in bloom and right now the wildflowers are starting to show their spring colors. In October it’s like a Mother Nature dropped a box of crayons across the valley below.
